Weapon Types Overview
Dread Delusion features a focused weapon system where each weapon type has distinct advantages. Unlike traditional RPGs, there are no "stat sticks" — every weapon changes how you play.

Melee Weapons — Up Close and Personal
- Iron Sword: Starting weapon. Reliable but unremarkable. Upgrade it early for a solid early-game experience.
- Battle Axe: Found in the first dungeon. Slow but devastating. Can break enemy shields in two hits.
- Void Blade: Mid-game weapon. Deals bonus damage to void creatures. Found in the Abyssal Depths.
- Sunlight Greatsword: Late-game weapon. Deals holy damage. Excellent against undead and void enemies.
- Starlight Dagger: Fastest weapon in the game. Found in a hidden chest on the starting island.
Ranged Weapons — Keep Your Distance
- Hunter's Crossbow: Basic ranged weapon. Slow reload but high damage. Found early in the game.
- Arcane Staff: Fires magic bolts. Scales with intelligence. Found in the Mage's Tower.
- Repeater Crossbow: Faster reload but lower damage per shot. Good for applying pressure.
- Void Cannon: Extremely rare. Fires a slow-moving projectile that deals massive area damage.

Upgrade Paths — Improving Your Gear
Gear can be upgraded at forges found throughout the world. Each upgrade level increases damage or protection by approximately 15%.
- Scrap Metal: Used for +1 to +2 upgrades. Common drop from enemies.
- Void Crystals: Used for +3 to +4 upgrades. Found in the Abyssal Depths.
- Ancient Alloys: Used for +5 (max) upgrades. Rare, found in hidden locations.

Best Gear Recommendations
- Early Game: Iron Sword + Traveler's Set. Upgrade the sword to +2 as soon as possible.
- Mid Game: Void Blade + Scale Armor. The Void Blade's bonus damage against void creatures is invaluable.
- Late Game: Sunlight Greatsword + Knight's Plate. Maximum damage and protection for the final areas.
- Stealth Build: Starlight Dagger + Rogue's Garb. Fast attacks and silent movement.
