Early Game Route
The early game focuses on establishing your hideout. Your first priority is reinforcing the doors and windows. Gather wood and nails from the surrounding area. Craft basic traps and place them at entry points. Explore the immediate area around your hideout during the first few days. Do not venture too far — focus on gathering resources and learning enemy patterns. The first week is about survival, not exploration.
Your route for the first few days should be: gather wood from the forest edge, check the nearby houses for supplies, return to hideout before dusk. The nearby houses have basic resources like bandages, ammunition, and food. The forest edge has wood and herbs. Avoid the deeper forest until you have a weapon and some traps.
Mid Game Route
Mid game starts after you have a secure hideout and basic weapons. Your priority should be exploring the Silent Forest and the Old Woods. The Silent Forest has the Doctor's cottage and the Musician's hideout. Visit them for quests and supplies. The Old Woods has rare materials and the entrance to the Swamp. Clear these areas during the day and return to your hideout at night.
The optimal mid game route is: Silent Forest (Doctor, resources), Old Woods (Musician, rare materials), Swamp (high-risk, high-reward). Complete the Doctor's quests for medical supplies. Complete the Musician's quests for the radio. The radio allows you to call for supplies, making survival significantly easier.
Late Game Route
The late game focuses on the village. The village is the most dangerous area in the game. It is filled with cultists, bandits, and the most powerful creatures. The village has several buildings: the church, the store, the houses, and the underground laboratory. Each building has valuable loot but is heavily guarded. Clear the village methodically, building by building.
The recommended order for the village is: outer houses (resources), store (ammunition and supplies), church (key items and the Being), underground laboratory (hidden ending items). Save the church for last — it contains the final boss. The underground laboratory is optional but required for the hidden ending.
Loot Collection Routes
For maximum loot, explore each area thoroughly. Your hideout area has 3 containers. The Silent Forest has 5 containers. The Old Woods has 4 containers. The Swamp has 6 containers. The village has 8 containers. Total: 26 containers. Each container has random loot, but some contain guaranteed items. The church safe always contains a unique weapon. The underground laboratory has the hidden ending items.
For unique weapons, there are 12 in the game. The most missable is the Hunting Rifle, found in a locked cabinet in the Doctor's cottage. The key is in the Old Woods, hidden in a hollow tree. The most powerful weapon is the Shotgun, found in the village store. Save your ammunition for the endgame — the Being requires significant firepower to defeat.
Survival Routes & Escape Plans
Always have an escape plan. When exploring, note the locations of safe houses and hideouts. If night falls while you are away from your hideout, find the nearest safe house. There are safe houses in the Silent Forest, the Old Woods, and the village. Each safe house has a bed, a workbench, and a stash. Use them as fallback positions.
The best survival route is: establish your main hideout, then set up satellite safe houses in each area. Stock each safe house with emergency supplies: bandages, ammunition, and food. If your main hideout is overrun, you can retreat to a safe house and recover. This strategy is essential for the late game, when enemy attacks become
more frequent and dangerous.
